Well, his name isn’t Rich, that’s just his nickname.
Richard. We call him Richard.
Well, actually, it’s not even Richard.
His name is Rashid.
But you can say he’s rich….likely really rich.
But not in the ways that we define being rich.
You see, we live in a time and place where we define things by possessions.
But Rashid…he’s rich man.
The smile on his face, you can’t buy that.
No one can buy that.
That kind of richness is from above.
We’re impressed by things that come from difficulty.
Little do we realize that inspiration can be gained from those right around us.
Those that are rich…but not “big house” rich.
I’m talking about richness that’s built over time.
Through the pain and the challenges.
One day you’re walking to school, and the next day you’re learning to walk.
From getting assists on the ball hockey court, to the assistance of a walking device.
These things require hard work.
They require determination.
They are fueled by persistence.
The kind of richness that inspires so many people all over the world.
I think one day I want to be rich, inshAllah.
But I’m not talking about that kind of “rich”.
I’m talking about the other kind of rich.
Rich like Rashid.
